Itinerary
Departure from Narsarsuaq to Reykjavik
Cast of anchor in from Reykjavik harbour and sailed to Westfjords of Iceland into Arnarfjordur. On the way you can expect to see whales and you will experience the beautiful mountains and fjords of the Westfjords from the sea which is a rather rare opportunity.
In Arnarfjordur we cast of ancher and go ashore by boats. Hiking from the shore to the majestic waterfall Dynjandi. Hiking back and back aboard the ship.
Dinner and relaxation aboard Argus before hitting the sack.
Westfjords of Iceland
We are enjoying this day exploring the wild and extreme nature of the most remote regents of Iceland. Sailing by the high mountains and cliffs ashore and into the fjords and most remote places. Going ashore by boats and hiking while exploring these remote pearls of Icelands nature. You can expect to see arctic fox, birds, seals and whales.
Daparture to Greenland in the afternoon.
Sailing to Greenland
On this day we cross the Arctic Circle while sailing from the Westfjords of Iceland to the East Coast of Greenland. We will sail around 215nm and on the way we can expect to see big whales, fishing trawlers and even Icebergs.
Arriving in Mikifjord in Greenland in the afternoon. Going ashore to set foot on Greenland if the weather conditions are right.
First day in Greenland
After a good breakfast we go ashore and will go on a easy hiking along the shore and enjoying the extreme pure wilderness.
We depart from Mikifjord in the afternoon and sail over to Kangerlugssuaq Fjord where we go a shore and explore abandoned hunting village. Spectalure scenes where big Icebergs are heading out to sea.
We cast anchor in Kangerlugssuag and stay the night. If the weather conditions are right we can expect majestic moments with the Northern lights and Icebergs in the fjord.
Iceberg adventures
Every day is an adventure but this is the favorite one for many. We go out into the Kangerlugssuaq fjord on a RIB boat cruising the fjord by the Icebergs and up to the glacier where the ice brakes into the ocean. We go ashore and hike up to the glacier and experience it up close. Here we can expect moments that you will never forget seeing the ice brake of into the ocean is a powerful experience.
Later that day we cruise to an Island to take look at a abandoned weather station.
The glacier in Kangerlugssuaq is one of the fastest moving glacier of Greenland.
Kulusuk or Tasiilaq
Arriving to Kulusuk or Tasiilaq harbour. We are going to town and experience a day to day culture of modern Greenland.
Obtion:
- Dog sleding with local tour companies
- Dining at local restaurants – but this needs to be arranged in advence.
The tour is comming to and end and the group is heading to the airport to catch a flight to Reykjavik Iceland.
